Ron Gardenhire made it through a battled prostrate cancer in 2017 and offers daily with diabetes.

In his third season as manager of the Detroit Tigers, the 62- year-old Gardenhire has not felt well for much of this COVID-19 shortened season and on Saturday quickly announced his retirement hours prior to the club faced the Cleveland Indians.
