2018 Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship | India completes valiant comeback, downs Hong Kong in four exhilarating sets
Unbeaten India demolished Hong Kong 3-1 on Tuesday to take big steps in confronting Asian powerhouses Iran, as daunting tasks await teams heading to the quarter-finals of the 19th Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship at Isa Sport City Hall.
India still had an unbeaten run in the top-tier championship after producing a fantastic 3-1 (19-25 26-24 27-25 25-12) win over Hong Kong on Wednesday. Shreyansh Singh’s 16 points including 12 spikes and another 16 points from Shekhar Singh enabled India to a successful comeback.

The classification playoffs continue on Wednesday. India go up against toughest Iran side in the round one. The winning team will advance to the quarter-finals, with the losers being relegated to the 9th-16th classification round.
The 19th Asian Men’s U20 Championship serves as an Asian qualification tournament for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship. Only top two teams from Manama will make the cut for the next year’s world meet.
