A single person was killed and 2 others were injured when a shooter opened fire inside a Costco shop in Southern California, authorities stated. The believed shooter was nabbed and hospitalized. Cops have not identified him.
Witnesses said the gunfire began when 2 males entered an argument at the store in Corona, which lies about 50 miles east of Los Angeles. The gunfire sent buyers racing for the exits and ducking for cover.
The Corona Police Department said officers came to the scene around 7: 45 p.m. local time on Friday. They said an off-duty officer from another company was injured in the shooting.
” From my understanding, from some individuals we spoke to, there was obviously an argument inside. Some kind of argument that took place into a weapon fight,” Lt. Jeff Edwards told reporters.
Edwards stated from his understanding, the shooting was not a domestic conflict.
Witnesses informed CBS Los Angeles they heard 7 or 8 gunshots when the violence appeared.
” If I saw any kids or women, everybody was getting them and making certain they were OK very first before anything else,” one worker stated. “Employees were taking care of each other. Ensuring we had a quiet headcount as we were going out, as best as we can.”
