Gator with knife in head identified in Texas neighborhood – KATC Lafayette News

Homeowners in a Texas neighborhood experienced an unusual sight swimming near their homes this week.

It wasn’t the gator that was uncommon, but the knife sticking out of its head.

House owner Erin Weaver tells ABC affiliate KTRK that she and other neighbors are disturbed to see the alligator hurt. She states that she’s lived in the area for six years and has actually never ever seen them act aggressive or defensive.

” I feel that somebody did this on function,” she said. “I can’t imagine this animal pursuing someone that they would need to safeguard themselves, since we have actually never ever had that take place prior to.”

Weaver says that she and her neighbors are intending to find aid for the gator before its too late.

” I want to get help for this alligator. I don’t want to see an alligator swimming around with a knife in its head and suffering.”

Texas Parks and Wildlife is anticipated to go out to the neighborhood at some point next week to inspect in on the animal.

KTRK talked with several authorities who noted that alligators are extremely resistant creatures that are resistant to infection and can live with injuries like this for their whole lives.
